Pedal to the Metal
First semester was certainly a journey; I’m not sure if I would consider it as being traveled in the fast lane, though. Imagine driving, and you get stuck in traffic for roughly 45 minutes, but it’s worth it because you see the most beautiful sunset you’ve ever seen. That’s kind of how these past 16 or so weeks have been- busy yet abundant. I took six classes with two additional credits packed on; it was a full load. I finished my Honors Concentration courses, with my first-ever theater course. This class included a writing enhancement, so I spent a lot of time reading new plays and typing away. I completed my public relations internship with the Annual Giving and Alumni Relations Office here at Northern. I networked with alumni- hearing their stories about their time on the Tundra and what made and continues to make ONU feel like home. A big bonus of this internship was having access to the golf cart keys! I secured an internship with Crown Equipment Corporation for this upcoming summer, in New Bremen, Ohio, working in Supply-Chain Logistics. The most fruitful part for me was the opportunity to develop my faith with peers, turned friends, in Fellowship of Christian Athletes. To any of my fellow p-bears reading this, I'd love to see you there!
Looks like this is my exit, I'll see you next time!

Congratulations on your internship! My brother-in-law works there so maybe you will see him. I'm happy to hear that you are working through life even if it does get a little overwhelming. I hope you heal fast and are able to get back on the track to compete soon!
ReplyDeleteAlexa, I’m so proud of you! I love seeing you chase opportunities, grow your faith, and make the most of every moment at ONU. Can’t wait to see what you do next! 🧡
ReplyDeleteWhat a great first semester. I can’t wait to see what you accomplish during spring semester and summer internship!
ReplyDeleteAlexa! How exciting that you got an internship! I hope you enjoy it and can learn a lot that you can take with you! You definitely have a busy schedule and I admire you for that! While it may seem like a lot, it will definitely pay off! Good luck with all your classes that have just begun!
ReplyDeleteHi Alexa! I can understand how that semester would be a big weight to carry since I did the same last semester with 6 classes and a lab. Also, really happy for you that you got an internship for the summer, that is really cool! I hope this semester is great, and good luck with them all!
ReplyDeleteHello! You definitely have a FULL schedule! I can't imagine how you keep it all straight with everything you're involved in. It is so inspiring, especially as a freshman, to see you practically everywhere working hard toward your goals. Also, I'm going on the SAM trip too so I hope to see you there!
ReplyDeleteHi Alexa! Wow, your semester definitely seemed full and congrats on your internship! It is so inspiring to hear all of the different things you are involved in and how much you truly enjoy all of it. I know we had talked about this before, but I am so excited to hopefully be working with you in the Alumni Office! I hope you have a great semester this spring!
ReplyDeleteHi Alexa! I can't believe how packed your schedule is, especially with track season being on its way. Also, I'm sorry to hear you are going through physical therapy right now, so you aren't able to run. That really sucks. I hope it all works out for you, and you can get back to running soon!
ReplyDeleteHey Alexa! Congrats on your internship! Your life seems super busy but also so fun. I hope that the semester goes good for you and hopefully you can get back to running soon!
